The Martallen cowl is a neat and soft everyday piece for when you just need a bit of warmth around your neck. It begins with a provisional cast-on and is knitted in one long tube piece with a colourwork pattern broken off with purl ridges. Once the desired length is done, the cowl is twisted and the ends are grafted together using Kitchener stitch. The colourwork is both charted and written out and the size of the cowl is easily adjusted by working more or fewer repeats. Keep in mind that yardage requirements change when altering the size.
