_______
This wrap sweater brings together two opposites -- a bulky handspun yarn and a sock yarn knit in a lace stitch -- into one flattering fit. A hemmed edging at the bottom of the sweater and fitted belt that buttons in the front give this wrap a tailored look.
Working this sweater involves a minimal amount of seaming. The body is knit in one piece. Sleeves are knit separately in the round and then seamed in. The continuous collar/belt is knit directly onto the sweater.
This sweater looks great on fuller-chested women. It can complement -- or create -- an hourglass figure.
The idea for this sweater came from an inspiring dyeing and spinning class that I took at the John C. Campbell Folk School with Martha Owen and her daughter Emolyn Liden. The contrasting textures in this sweater complement each other in the same delightful way that Martha and Emolyn do.
