Looking for inspiration in my stash one day, I happened upon two beautiful skeins of yarn that were side by side and appeared to be a match made in stash heaven. The Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky, in Royal Purple, is soft as a dream, and the deep purple accents the layers of color in the Malabrigo Mecha in Lotus, like they were destined to be knit together.

Designed as a companion to my Motley Cowl, these mitts used up the leftover yarn from that pattern; about 3/4 skein of the Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky, and about 1/3 skein of the Malabrigo Mecha.

These warm and cozy mitts knit up quickly on US size 9 needles (5.5 mm), and will keep your wrists toasty warm while leaving your fingers free to keep knitting!
