Mary the Lamb
This was featured in English Woman’s Weekly Knitting and Crochet Special in March 2013.
When designing her I needed a nice name and thought Mary worked well from the nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb”.
A very simple design, quick to make. Basic shaping gives her lots of cuteness and character. The dress has cross-over straps which means she can double as a dressing-up doll.
When I completed the original design Mary only had a dress. After she was received by the magazine it was suggested she should also have some shoes and a basket of flowers. I was happy to oblige and absolutely love her cute shoes!
Approximate height when finished is 36cm to top of head.
