You need

• Worsted–aran weight yarn, approx 130{150, 170, 190} yards / 120{140, 155, 175} meters
• Size US 7 / 4.5mm circular needles 32” or longer (or sized to get gauge)
• 4 stitch markers
• A crochet hook and scrap yarn for provisional cast-on
• An extra needle for a 3-needle bind-off

Gauge
19 sts and 26 rows per 4” / 10cm in 2x2 rib laying flat. Row gauge is more important than stitch gauge, but you don’t need to worry about matching gauge exactly—you can determine your hat size by measuring the first section. The pattern includes notes for measuring gauge and size as you knit so there’s no need to make a gauge swatch!
