This tank design began its life, strangely enough, as a bag. It originated as a summery tote with the bottom seam left out. Knit in one piece with no fussy finishing or seams, it’s a relaxing piece to both knit and wear.

The top is knit entirely in one piece in the round. The body is knit bottom up as a tube, then stitches are bound off and cast on in subsequent rows to create the underarms and straps. Long rounds that comprise the straps and neckline are then worked, which are bound off in one round to complete the top.

Stitch pattern is written and charted.
