Meander Scarf
A 1-skein boomerang shaped scarf that ebbs and flows in ever changing, nearly reversible stitch directions, much like its namesake river in the Aegean region of Turkey, using a repetition of whirling eyelets to demarcate the textures of each different motif. Worked flat from the narrow end with consistent garter edges.
Materials: 1 skein Urth Harvest Fingering, shown
in Pomegranate
Dimensions: 60”/ 152.5 cm wingspan, 14”/ 35.5 cm at widest point, 32”/ 81 cm at bind off edge.
Needles: US 7 / 4.5 mm, straight or circular, length to accommodate final 146 sts. Note: a few knitters have experienced running out of yarn in the last few rows, so frogged and reworked using US 6/4mm instead of the US 7/4.5mm recommended. Frequent switching between knits and purls can vary yarn usage based on differing tensions between those stitches.
