Mebonden
Among all the patterns in this club, these are the most archetypal Selbu mittens, and arguably also the most intuitive pair to knit. The idea is that we start simple, and then pair by pair build up confidence and ability to tackle more intricate colourwork design.
I named this pattern Mebonden, after the centre village of Selbu where their administraton, the Selbu church and the annual Selbumartnan is located (a martnan is a traditional Norwegian market, tracing back to medieval times).

Yarn
Navia Trio (34% Faroese, 33% Australian, 33% Shetland wool, 120m / 131 yds, 50g)
50g of Natural White N31 (main colour)
50g of Charcoal 34 (contrast colour)

Needles
Gauge-size needles and 0.5 mm below gauge-size needles for working small circumferences in the round.
The sample was made using 4 mm (US 6) and 3.5 mm (US 4) mm needles.

The sample was made in size 3.
Different sizes are achieved with different gauges by using bigger needles for bigger sizes and smaller needles for smaller sizes.
