A simple, yet versatile, A-line sweater
with “mending” stitches running along the front. Inspired by the age-old tradition of mending, I wanted to create a sweater that mimics the way we treat the rest of our wardrobe: always adding stitches, repurposing, taking care of our favorite garments, and making them truly unique and our own with each wear, tear, and mend.

1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

Finished bust circumference: 83.75 (91.25, 99.5, 107, 115.25, 123.75, 131.25, 139.5) cm / 33 (36, 39.25, 42.25, 45.5, 48.75, 51.5, 55)” - recommended to be worn with 5-5.75 cm / 2-2.25” of positive ease at the bust.

Yarn

Magasin Duett Silke Tweed (75% lambswool, 25% silk; 190 metres / 208 yards per 50 g)

MC: 1075 (1185, 1335, 1455, 1590, 1715, 1840, 1995) metres / 1175 (1295, 1460, 1590, 1740, 1875, 2010) yards

CC: At least 80 metres / 90 yards, depending on amount of embroidery desired

Sample shown is knit in colourways Sloan (MC) and Shell (CC). Marie wears a size 4 with 16 cm / 6.25” of positive ease.

Needles

4mm / US 6 circular needle with a cable length of at least 80 cm / 32” (or two needle sizes larger than main gauge needle)

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle with a cable length of at least 80 cm / 32” (or needle size to obtain gauge)

Gauge

21.5 sts x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” (in the round, in stockinette stitch, on larger needle, after blocking)
