Pattern description from Handknit Holidays:
“Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights, and it’s most recognizable symbol is the menorah--the nine branched candelabra on which candles are lit and blessed, one by one, over the eight days of celebration. Contemporary menorahs are made from all kinds of materials - the elegant one on the front of this pillow is crafted from knitted cables in a luxurious blend of wool and cashmere, inviting rest for a holiday weary head. The back of the Pillow is worked in two pieces in double-moss stitch, then closed with knotted I-cord buttons The menorah motif here was inspired by a candlestick design in Charted Knitting Designs by Barbara G. Walker.”

Finished Measurements: To fit 14” square pillow form snugly

Materials: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran (55% merino wool / 33% microfiber / 12% cashmere; 100 yards / 50 grams): 5 balls #300102 eggshell

Needles:

• One pair straight needles size US 7 (4.5 mm)
• Two 24” (60 cm) circular (circ) needles size US 6 (4 mm)
• One set of double-pointed needles (dpn) size US 7 (4.5 mm)
• change needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: 14” square pillow form, cable needle (cn), crochet hook size G/6 (4 mm), stitch holder, waste yarn, sewing needle, matching colored thread, yarn needle.

Errata:

The pillow shown in the photograph was made with 5 balls of yarn, but some knitters have found that they need 6 balls.



CLARIFICATION: Under Pillow Front, Line 1 should read: Using larger needles, scrap yarn, and Provisional Chain CO, CO 76 sts; with working yarn, begin Double Moss St for Lower Border.



Last line of Pillow Front (before Note) should read: Work 96 rows of chart (not 97 as stated.



Rows 41 and 42 of the Chart on page 38 are each missing a dot in stitch 3.  This stitch should be purled on the RS; knit on the WS.



The Chart Key (page 39) contains two unnecessary symbols (sixth and seventh from the top) and may be ignored.



CLARIFICATION: Under Back Lower Piece, the first line should read: Using larger needles, scrap yarn, and Provisional Chain CO, CO 76 sts; with working yarn, begin Double-moss St as for lower Front border.



CLARIFICATION: Under Back Upper Piece, the first line should read: Using larger needles, working yarn, and Provisional Chain CO, CO 76 sts; with working yarn, begin Double-moss St as for lower Back.



Also, the final three lines of the Back Upper Piece section should read: Work even as established for 64 rows from the CO.  Do not BO.  Break off yarn; leave sts on spare thread.  Leave CO in place permanently.



CLARIFICATION: Under I-Cord Knot Buttons, third sentence should read: Tie into a large knot twice and tack ends onto WS to create butto
