Menton 1 is my interpretation of the “cool girl” classic Aran sweater. Worn habitually in the ʼ90s by everyone from J.Crew models to your Gramps, the classic Aran sweater is simply timeless. Menton is my own spin on the classic Aran with an original cable design — also seen in Gordes hat — paired with one of my favorite Annie Maloney unusual lattice cables. All of this is flanked by a smooshy double moss stitch and simple rope cables for a mashed up modern-classic that any nostalgic ʼ90s girl will covet as much now as then.

This pullover is made in gorgeous De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, a semi-woolen spun yarn produced in France with all the French Girl Cool one can expect from a perfectly soft, airy, and magically stitch defining yarn. It’s made for a trip to the French Alps, the Rockies, or cozying up by any fire in fall and winter.

As we are eternally #teamseam, this raglan is made from the bottom up in pieces and seamed. Optional directions for tubular cast ons are provided for extra polished finishing. The neckband is picked up and worked in the round, then bound off, folded over, and seamed to the pick up ridge for a classic Aran-style crewneck with extra warmth and structure. Menton 1 is made using ASTM for Women, meaning this pullover is made using standardized measurements for women’s wear for a more petite frame.

Stay tuned for Menton 2 — the menswear version — coming soon!
