I love simple cables and I love a classic stripe, so I was most happy to realise that combining the two made for a pretty nifty pattern. Extra pop for the cables where they merge with stripes!
YARN: worsted weight yarn in 2 shades. Approx 124 (145; 166) metres / 136 (159; 182) yards of MC (main colour) and 10 metres / 11 yards of CC (contrast colour).
Sample shown in Lily Kate Makes AXIS Worsted (90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein) in shades Event Horizon and Albedo. If using this yarn, you will need 2 skeins of MC and 1 skein of CC.
GAUGE: 1 pattern repeat measures 2 inches / 5 cm wide, after blocking.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS:
For main hat: 4.5mm circular needle of length 16” / 40cm
For crown shaping: 4.5mm needles of your preferred length for working small circumferences in the round (ie. DPNs, long circulars for magic loop).

SIZING: Sizes 1 (2; 3) with finished circumference 12 (14, 16) inches / 30 (36; 41) cm. Sample shown in size 2 which comfortably fits an adult head of circumference 22.5” / 57 cm.
