At the last DFW Fiber Fest, I picked up a few lovely skeins of sock yarn from the Gritty Knits booth. The fiber content is 60% Superwash Merino, 20% Yak, and 20% Silk. I am not a dyer, but I have noticed that a yarn with any yak seems to have a deeper, more intense color than other fibers. The silk has given this one an iridescent quality. Medium Blue (the color name) looked like it belonged on a mermaid’s tail. I looked through several stitch dictionaries and found a stitch pattern to match the color. However, I did make a change: I changed the s1k2p decrease to a CDD to enhance the vertical lines of the sock.

Please note that this sock has been very firmly blocked to enhance the stitch pattern. The finished measurements and gauge reflect this.
