Mermaid’s Mantle, a horizontal scarf or shawlette, features images from the seashore: scallop shells, lacy sea-grass, and bubbles. It works as an all-season accessory – in wintry winds wrap it around your neck, over or under a coat. At the shore in warmer months, it doubles as a shoulder shawl for strolling the beach.

Pattern uses two skeins of Briggs and Little Light ‘n Fancy Softspun. It is knit flat on a circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches. Shown in colour 102 “Cobble Stone” (also shown in colour 103 “Purple Pansy”.
