The pattern is for a pair of fingerless mittens or full length mittens worked in the round. You begin at the cuff, which is snug to keep out winter chills. A thumb gusset is worked during the placement of the panel on the back of the hand. The full mittens continue to the end of the fingertips, are decreased on either side and grafted closed. The fingerless mitts have a few rounds of rib to cover the knuckles and thumb and are then cast off.

This little motif got me thinking about stone circles that I had visited in Cornwall and is named after the Merry Maidens in Boleigh.
