Knit some Merry Musicians to decorate your festive tree, here is a quartet of horn players and drummers, plus a big bass drum.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The chin and drum straps are single crochet chains worked on a crochet hook.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.25mm single pointed knitting needles (US 3)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour. The gold yarn is Scheepjes Twinkle DK; 75% Cotton/25% Polyester; one 50g/130m skein


NOTIONS
Toy filling, tapestry needle, beads for eyes, a crochet hook, cocktail sticks, and gold embroidery thread

SIZES
One size only - musicians are 13cm tall and big drums are 4cm diameter.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
