Merry Spring Vest
This is a variation of my most popular pattern ever: Merry-Go Round. It is based on the same shape and concept but uses the unique gauge that is produced by using Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball yarn on a bulky knitting machine at stitch size 6. The finished gauge of the relaxed fabric is 4 stitches/4.5 rows per inch. It is possible to match this gauge on some mid-gauge machines at a larger stitch size.
The original pattern has many, many variations built into it including the addition of sleeves, assorted short-rowing options, cables and so on. This is a simple version without so many choices and it is unique to Shawl in a Ball yarn. Very few other yarns will get this gauge.

double bed machines includes Passaps, Superbas, Orions and the like that usually originally came with 2 beds attached. Most were made in Europe Machines that have attachable ribbers will work just as well. This includes old Knittax type machines that only have every other needle on the ribber. However it is essential that the machine be able to produce half fisherman’s rib.
