Say Hello to Merry, your new Christmassy friend. He loves Christmas so much that he wears his reindeer sweater all year round. He’s such a jolly little chap and loves to spread some Christmas cheer no matter what time of year it is.

This is an original amigurumi crochet pattern designed by me (Smiley Crochet Things) to make a bear wearing a Christmas sweater with a reindeer on it. The pattern includes detailed step by step instructions and pictures

Intermediate pattern - a little crochet knowledge is necessary although only basic stitches are required (chain stitch, single crochet and slip stitch are used within this pattern), more complicated techniques used within this pattern are described in detail. This pattern uses the amigurumi method of working in spirals.

The body of this pattern is worked as one piece from the toes to the neck, so no need for too much tedious hand sewing!

Size (using suggested materials): 22cm (8.75 inches) tall and 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide.

Materials:

  • dk/light worsted (8ply) yarn in the required colours (yarn used for picture is Ricorumi; 100% cotton yarn)
  • 3mm crochet hook
  • 9mm black safety eyes
  • Polyester toy stuffing

Any yarn can be used with an appropriate size hook, although other weights of yarn will affect the size of the finished item. No required tension, as long as it is worked fairly tightly.
