Mexican Prairie Dog
Once there were billions of prairie dogs scurrying and scampering across the prairies of Mexico and the southwestern United States, but treatment as an agricultural pest has made them an endangered species. Today there is only a fraction of the population left.
Mexican Prairie Dog is worked in the round, and mostly in one piece. The finished object stands about 7 inches tall and is about 3 inches wide.
Learn more about this wonderful animal and 24 others when you read the pages of a naturalist as she travels the world, documenting the animals she sees, and designing knitting patterns for each one. This book was a collaboration with my children who did the artwork.
