Mil Pasos
Mil Pasos means Thousands Steps in Spanish, steps you make every single day of your life, which often pull you towards your goals, sometimes push you even further, steps, without which you wouldn’t be who you are.
Mil Pasos is a shawl knitted from top – down, finished with a lace frill in a contrasting color. Big contrast and variegated yarn in a stunning shade is all you need to create an unique wrap with flattering shape and exquisite fabric you will wear with pleasure.
Finished measurements:
width – approx. 190 cm/ 75 “
depth – approx. 40 cm/ 16 ”
The sample was knitted in:
Contrasting color: Silky Merino (75 % merino wool, 25 % silk) from Zagroda: 440 yards / 402 meters per 100g skein, in color: red
Main color: Everlasting Sock (100 % merino wool) from Dream in Color: 400 yards / 366 meters per 100 g skein, in color: Victoria
Yarn:
Any fingering yarn of your choice.
Yardage:
Main color: 1 skein (100 g) of fingering weight yarn of your choice Contrasting color: 0.6 skein (100 g) of fingering yarn of your choice
Gauge:
16 stitches / 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm /4“ x 4” with 4.0 mm/ US 6 in slipped stitch lace pattern after blocking.
The gauge is not crucial for this project, but big changes in gauge could affect the required yardage and the measurements of the finished garment.
Needles:
• circular needle in size 4.0 mm / US 6 (80 cm/ 32” long).
• double pointed needles in size 3.5 mm / US 4 – used only to cast on
Other notions:
• 2 stitch markers
• tapestry needle
• blocking wires or nylon thread
• blocking pins
