Mile Cross Mosaic Sampler was designed as a 5-part CAL (Crochet ALong), which ran from Friday, 13th September until mid-October 2024.
As the CAL has now finished, the individual files for the separate parts have now been removed, replaced by a single file containing the complete pattern (English and Dutch versions)

Inspired by Cross Stitch samplers, Mile Cross is worked using overlay mosaic crochet, from centre out.
It does not require any special stitches, nor mid-round colour changes, making it ideal for all levels of expertise, including beginners to mosaic crochet.

If you are unfamiliar with mosaic crochet don’t worry, it is much easier to do than it looks, and step by step instructions are given.
You will only be using 1 colour for each round.

Colour packs are available for a full size blanket (125cm), and for a 70cm baby blanket, but you can stop after virtually any chart if you feel your blanket is big enough … and I have also included basic instructions for extending the blanket by repeating selected charts.

Lefthander-friendly
For any non-symmetrical sections I will either provide a separate lefthanded chart, so it matches the written instructions (this will create a mirror-image of the design), or provide separate written instructions (where letters / numbers are included).
There will also be lefthanded versions for the videos.

To simplify the abbreviations, and avoid the need for separate UK and US versions, the pattern is written in my ’Universal’ terms (I developed these terms for the Jacquard Temperature Blanket and have also used them in all my subsequent overlay mosaic crochet CALs and patterns).
