Millefleur
Millefleur draws inspiration from the joyful geometry and exuberant color of mid-century designer Alexander Girard, whose work has long been a source of creative inspiration for me. In particular, the Girard Bouquet poster immediately struck me as something that could be translated into stranded knitting, with its rhythmic motifs, folkloric spirit, and vibrant palette. While this design borrows elements from traditional Fair Isle knitting—repeating motifs, small-scale patterning, and richly layered color—it is not intended to be a traditional Fair Isle garment. Instead, it is a modern interpretation that blends historical knitting influences with a bold, graphic sensibility inspired by Girard’s playful approach to pattern and color.
