Millie Side Tie Cloche (Knit)
Meet Millie! A side tie Vintage inspired Cloche that’s simply perfect for Spring.
The band is knit separately in Shine Sport, a cool, lightweight but sturdy blend of cotton and beechwood and the hat portion is knit in Andean Silk, a blend of Alpaca, Wool and luxurious Silk.
This pattern incorporates my new most favourite technique…. Double Knitting. For those new to this technique, I have included several helpful step-by-step photos.
Size US#7 16” Circulars are needed for ALL sizes but for the double knit band/tie, you will need either #5 needles (for a small hat) or #6 needles (for a medium hat). Use the #7’s for a large hat.
Can be easily knit to fit a small child’s head: Use US#5 needles for tie and US#7 for the hat but knit 6 fewer rounds in pattern. :)
Pattern uses:
(1) 50 grm ball of Knit Picks Shine Sport
(2) 50 grm balls of Knit Picks Andean Silk
