During a Stitch and Chat™ class, I learned that one of my knitters, Lynn, had a daughter who dyed yarn. Now I’ve known Lynn for a while now and was SHOCKED that I didn’t know this. I mean, seriously, how did I not know this!

Given that I need to check out the new shiny object right away, I immediately visited Lauren’s website. The rest, as they say, is history.

I was completely smitten by her gradients, specifically, the Rose Quartz Gradient.

My vision was to use a stitch pattern that could be repeated throughout the scarf, transitioning through the colors, and most importantly - not competing with the yarn. I wanted to showcase the beauty of Lauren’s gradients.

I named the pattern mimeograph as a throwback to how copies were made when I was a kid in school. There was a mimeograph machine and as you made more and more copies, the color of the ink would fade.

Finished Measurements: taken after blocking: 12”/30.5cm x 72”/182.9cm.

Yarn: A Girl and Her Wool Sock (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 92 yards/20g) per skein in Rose Gold Gradient (10 colors), 920 yards/200g total. Click here to check out the different gradients.

Needles & Notions: US #4/3.5mm, 24”/60cm circular (or size to get gauge), locking stitch marker/safety pin, and tapestry needle.
