Mimosa jacket is a foot-long jacket made of thick mohair on thick needles. The jacket is worked top down and has wide sleeves that reach just above the wrist. The contrasting colour on the back piece is incorporated using the intarsia technique, which widens towards the bottom and ends up covering the entire lower part of the jacket. Both sleeves and body end with wide hems, creating the necessary heaviness so that the jacket falls beautifully. The jacket’s length can be excellently adjusted, so that it fits you perfectly.
The main colour is the colour that is most visible on the front. It runs from the neckline, across the yoke and sleeves and becomes narrower towards the body. The contrasting colour is the “triangle” that widens across the back.
Size guide:
Choose a size that is approx. 10- 40 cm wider (positive ease) than your chest circumference.
Needle size:
8 mm (60 or 100 cm) circular needle for yoke, body and sleeves, 40 cm for the sleeves, if you are not working with the Magic Loop method.
6 mm (60 or 100 cm) circular needle for the hems, 40 cm for the sleeves, if you are not working with the Magic Loop method.
Colour:
The pictured jacket is worked in HipKnitShop Fluff in main colour «Peach Cream»
and contrasting colour «Wild Flower».
