Miniature Flamingo (Africa Series)
This pattern is available as a
free Ravelry download
The first of the Africa series: a flamingo.
In addition to some pink yarn (and just a little bit of black for the beak) you will need pink wooden beads and pink pipe cleaner.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any pink beads in the right size: so I painted some natural beads with pink acrylic paint - which worked quite well.
ETA:
Oh dear- somehow I thought that the tail of a flamingo is quite long - hence the instructions in this pattern.
Well, it is not - in fact, the tail is so short that you can’t even see it beneath the wing feathers, if the flamingo is standing or walking.
Therefore, modified instructions for the tail are: make a foundation chain of four or five ch at most, do the rest as described in the pattern.
