The inspiration for this design is a pattern found in a bronze sculpture from Benin, West Africa. Mino--meaning “our mother”--is the name given to an all-female military regiment from the Kingdom of Dahomey (now Benin). These female warriors were immortalized in the highly successful Black Panther film.

The vest is a scoop neck garment designed for wearing over a shirt or top with short or long sleeves, and the overall look is inspired by the traditional uniforms of many British schools.*
