Mira Mandala is a “classical” example of overlay crochet - thick and heavily covered with overlaid stitches. Its size is generous for a round pillow. Or it can make a nice wall hanging decoration.

This easy to follow pattern is written for one size. It contains step by step full written instructions in English using standard crochet abbreviations and US terms (stitch guide is given in the pattern). It also contains lots of pictures explaining all the tricky and difficult places.

Materials: Yarn in five colors. I used yarn Softfun and Catona yarns by Scheepjes for my samples (one yarn for each).

Crochet hook 3mm (for Catona) or 3.5 mm (for Softfun) or size needed to get an acceptable gauge.

Please, feel free to use different weight of yarn and hook to make the mandala bigger or smaller.
Scissors, tapestry needle to weave in yarn tails.

Gauge: after 8 rounds mandala measures 10cm (4 inches) across with Softfun yarn and 3.5mm hook.

Finished size: The size of the finished mandala depends on the yarn and hook you use. My mandala is approx. 46 cm (18 inches) across in Softfun.
