Miranda Shawl
A simple reversible garter stitch shawl with points along the edge.
The shawl is worked from side to side, so it can use as much or as little yarn as desired. The increases are worked until the shawl is half of the desired length (or until half the yarn is used).
Pattern is written for light worsted, but can be made with any weight of yarn.
Yarn: DK-light worsted, about 300 yards. Pictured prototype used about 293 yards of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend.
Needles: US 10 (6 mm). I recommend a needle about 2 sizes larger than the size recommended on the ball band. 2 stitchmarkers are also needed.
Gauge: 3.5 stitches per inch. It is not imperative that you get gauge. Use a needle size that will result in a fabric you like.
Size: Shawl pictured is 60” long by 25” deep. Size is easily adjustable. The size can also be adjusted by changing the yarn weight and needle size.
This is the first pattern in the Shakespeare Collection.
