Every year, round about the middle of January, we all remember that winter is cold. Very cold. And that there can never be too many warm hats and cowls in the knitwear bin. Every year, round about the middle of January, I knit furiously, trying to fill up that bin with hats and cowls for all the children. Misa Cowl is for my youngest – the big, bold cables suit her big, bold personality.

Misa Cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up, and is suitable for your favourite bulky weight yarn in a solid or semi-solid colour. The pattern comes in one size, to fit an average adult as a loose cowl.

Suggested Yarns: Colour Adventures Dia Big (100% merino, 106 yd/97 m per 3.5 oz/100 g), sample shown in Birch Tree;
or other bulky weight yarn that blocks well and knits up to a gauge of 14 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette.

Sizes: One size, to fit as a loose cowl on an average adult.

Yardage: 212 yd/ 194 m. Please note the sample took the entire two skeins, so I recommend having an insurance skein if you will not be keeping a close eye on gauge.

Suggested Needles: US 10/6.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge;
US 8/5.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles or needles two size smaller than gauge needles.

Gauge: 18 sts and 20 rounds = 4”/10 cm in cable pattern in the round on larger needles; (36 sts/1 rep of chart = 8”/20.5 cm); 14 sts = 4”/10 cm in stockinette.

Finished Dimensions: Height: 11.75”/30 cm.
