Miss Bracken
As soon as I finished the original, child’s version of this sweater (Bracken) it was clear that Mama wanted, or perhaps I should say needed, her own version. Not only does Brooklyn Tweed’s bulky weight yarn ‘Quarry’ make for a gratifyingly speedy project, but this unique yarn is like no other bulky weight, remaining light and not excessively warm.
Miss Bracken is a simple, top-down raglan sweater with the added detail of switching between contrasting needle sizes every row to give the reverse stockinette fabric two row furrows. The body includes some gentle A-line shaping and a stylish dropped back hem, keeping this comfortable sweater modern without compromising the major cozy factor. A selfish knit every girl needs in her closet!
