“Miss Elliot” is a third installment in a “Jane Austen Heroines” series.
As the other two shawls it is distinctly romantic and feminine in style.
Beautiful leaf and faux cable pattern run along the border and delicate edging is embellished with small glass beads.

There are two versions shown. The summer one is knitted in a fingering weight in “Lunayarns” “Bedouin” (65%swiss silk/35%babycamel), colour “Azure Skies”. The size given uses 1.6 skeins (650m) and is knitted on 3.25mm needle.
The winter version of the same size shown in Classic Elite Yarns “Magnolia”, a DK blend of 70%Merino and 30% silk in light teal uses 4.5 skeins (500m) on 4.5mm needle.

“Miss Elliot” has a crescent shape with a border knitted sideways first. Stitches are later picked up along the edge and body is knitted bottom up in a simple eyelet pattern and shaped using short rows.
The size of it can be adjusted easily by knitting more or less border lace repeats (all instructions given) and also bigger size needle may be used for a fingering weight yarn to give slightly different effect.

There are variety of stitches used to keep the knitting interesting. Despite its complicated look is nothing but. One should be familiar with short rows, patterning on both sides (the easy kind), and lace knitting.

If beads are desired use size 6 and 1mm hook.

Instructions are written and border is also charted.
The pattern is suitable for intermediate and advanced knitters.

“Miss Elliot” is perfect for a special occasion, but not limited to it.
It will add a touch of style and glamor to many outfits!
