MissOne Skirt
MissOne (or Miss One) skirt is inspired by the famous Missoni zigzag patterns, “translated” into mosaic knitting.
Mosaic knitting is one of the easiest colourwork techniques, using just one colour per row worked with slipped stitches to create the pattern. Mosaic knitting is often worked in garter stitch. However, this skirt is worked in a stocking stitch, just knitting and slipping stitches.
The pattern is charted and written out. It has been tech-edited and test knitted. The pattern uses metric and imperial systems.
The tube skirt is worked in rounds from the waistband down, worn with 5 - 8 cm / 2 – 3” negative ease. The length is adjustable.
Sizing is based on full hip measurement (see the table on the left) with three options for waist shaping depending on your waist-to-hip ratio.
Four colours were used for the sample. You can use as many colours as you like. It’s a great project for stash-busting!
The sample size is 6, worn with 5 cm / 2” negative ease.
The yarns used for the sample:
Knit Picks Hawthorne Fingering #26864 Wilshire, #27413 Arleta, #27833 Mt Scott, #28623 Midwinter.
Hawthorne is listed as a Fingering weight yarn, however, it is rather Heavy Fingering or Sport weight, with 100 g / 3.53 oz = 326 m / 357 yards.
