Hills, lakes, and the famous Gateway Arch! This is a sock with an unusual construction. Inspired by Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Moccasin Sock, the leg and top of the foot is worked first, then the toe, heel, and finally the sole of the foot.

Gauge:
32 sts x 64 rows = 4” / 10cm in garter stitch worked flat
30 sts x 40 rows = 4” / 10cm square in stockinette stitch knit flat

Needles:
Size US 1 (2.25 mm), or size needed for gauge, flat, circular, or double pointed needles. A 16” / 40cm circular needle in gauge size is recommended for the sole. I used a 32” circular needle using the Magic Loop method in lieu of the 16” needle.
Notions:
Yarn needle, cable needle, 4 removable stitch markers, waste yarn or 2 small stitch holders (safety pins will work well)
