Mitla
This mosaic knit wrap is worked in two colors – the yarn an ultra-soft and luxurious blend of cashmere, mink, and fine wool. The wrap is called Mitla and takes its inspiration from the step-fret designs of Meso-America. For my stitch pattern ideas I typically refer to Barbara Walker’s Mosaic Knitting – which I consider a treasury for mosaic motifs.
I would consider this an appropriate project for advanced beginners, who have some experience in mosaic knitting.
Although not essential, the long edges are finished with a row of single crochet, worked through the selvedge stitches, to provide stability to the edges.
