The set-in sleeves are knit from the top town, so he can try it on as you knit and ensure the sleeve length is perfect. And the neckband is knit in ribbing, then doubled and sewn down on the inside to keep it nice and snug without being too tight. This sweater says thank you for all those visits to yarn shops and times he had to wait ‘just one more row.’”

Note: “The only sewing involved in this pattern is securing the neckband to the inside of the sweater. The body is knit bottom-up in one piece, and the set-in sleeves are knit top down. Shoulders are short-rowed and joined with a 3 needle bind-off. Entire sweater is knit with the yarns held together.”
