Mjohoro
Mjohoro, Mhoba, Flamboyant, and the Tanzanian Christmas Tree are all names given to a tree that flowers spectacularly in December. It’s so striking that it is sometimes used as a motif in woodcarvings like those that can be found on massive doors on the island of Zanzibar and along the Swahili Coast.
This is the second pattern in a collection inspired by the intricately carved wooden doors on Zanzibar. The remaining patterns will be released as follows:

Finished Size: Brim circumference of 18.5” / 47 cm and height of 9” / 23 cm.
Yarn Requirements: Approximately yards 210 yards / 192 meters worsted weight superwash wool.
Sample shown in Malabrigo, Rios (100% Superwash Merino Wool & 210 yards / 192 meters per 100g), 1 hank Colorway: Glazed Carrot
Needles and Notions: US size 7 / 4.5 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge as preferred for working small circumferences in the round plus one size smaller for brim.
1 stitch marker, cable needle, and a tapestry needle.
Techniques used: Cabling, bobble making, decreasing.
This pattern is both fully written and charted so that the knitter may work from either set of directions as preferred.
