Mocking Jay Head Warmer
I’m a huge fan of the Hunger Games series and thought
“what would Katniss Everdeen wear?” I came up with this
simple design in a hunter green. Perfect for cold nights in
the arena .
The best way to find your head circumference is to take a flexible measuring tape and wrap it around from your forehead to the base of your neck. My head measures 19” approximately, so this pattern is based on 19”, however, it is easily adjustable to smaller or larger sizes by reducing or increasing the number of chains.
Materials Needed:
− Lion brand, Heartland – Joshua Tree (green). Medium weight yarn, 100% acrylic, but soft.
SKU: 062241
− Hook Size: 6 mm hook, J or equivalent to achieve gauge if you use a different yarn. (Here
is a link to a conversion chart if your needles are lettered or numbered: Hook Conversion
Chart.)
− Scissors
− Darning needle (I prefer using my needle to weave in tails and joins, its preference).
− Measurements: (for chaining 62) 19” x 3” (has a little stretch to it)
− Gauge: 12 sts and 8 rows = 4” x 4” or 10 x 10 cm.
Directions for gauge: Using 6 mm hook, ch12, + 2, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, and in each
ch to end. ch 2, turn.repeat to create 8 rows total.
