A hip-length cardigan in wide rib with a wide stranded border around hips and cuffs, and a similar border across the top of the back and front. It has dropped sleeves and a v-neck with a wide, ribbed button-band, and is double-breasted. The wide button band can be worn flat around the neck or rolled as a collar. A comment from Sue Bradley on the pattern says, “inspiration came from Norwegian designs.”.
This is a long cardigan, with back length 28.25in/72cm to 32.5in/83cm.
There is no chart for the colorwork; it is written out, line by line. There is a photo tutorial for twisting colours in stranded knitting, and a photo tutorial for sewing on buttons. There is a comment saying that the seams are necessary to keep this garment’s shape, because the stranded borders are heavier than the rib.
Eight buttons are required. It is knitted in five colours, with a requirement for 12-17 x 50g of first colour, 1-3 x 50g balls of second and third colours, and 1 x 50g of the fourth and fifth colours.
