Knit in Truboo yarn, the Montauk top will take you from Spring straight through to Fall. Layer it under a blazer for cool evening look or go casual with a pair of jeans. The stitch pattern is easily memorized, so feel free to knit this one accompanied by your favorite audio book as the silky stitches of Truboo slide through your fingers.

The sleeves are worked first, which gives you the perfect opportunity to skip a traditional swatch and use the sleeve to check your gauge instead. However, do keep in mind that the sleeves are knitted flat while the rest of the garment is worked in the round.
Why are the sleeves worked flat? Short answer, I find it less fussy. Yes, that means you have to sew a small seam under the arms. The body of this top os worked bottom up, which means when you get to the arm opening you will be joining the sleeve the body. joining 3 circles (2 sleeves and the body) can be difficult to manage on one circular needle. It just doesn’t quite bend correctly. If you do want to alter the pattern (I’m all for individual modifications!) and work the sleeves in the round then you may wish to use 2 circular needles when it comes to joining them to the body.

This top can easily be worn more fitted (actual bust or 1-2” larger) or loose as shown depending on your style.
