Mood Ring Baby Blanket
This eye-catching graphic blanket brings back 1970s wallpaper chic with geometric lines and fun colorwork. Like the mood rings that were so popular in the 1970s, this blanket’s shape-shifting effect changes its optical illusion depending on which way you look at it!
This is an advanced beginner pattern. It’s easier than it looks because both colors are carried throughout the blanket and it uses only single and double crochet stitches. Pattern is written in US terms and includes explanations of all stitches and abbreviations. US and metric measurements given.
Finished dimensions are about 44 by 58 inches (112 by 147 cm) when using worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm hook. It’s a great size for a lapghan, stroller, car seat, crib, or tummy time play mat, or child’s afghan. This pattern can also be used to make a beautiful rug or towel.
Pattern pdf includes:
• detailed color photos of techniques for beginners
• yardage requirements for each color as well as for the whole blanket
• yarn recommendations including color descriptions and a recommended brand
• a full pattern chart
• row-by-row written color change instructions to reduce tiresome counting
• how to use the pattern to make a twin- or single bed-sized blanket (58 by 86 inches 177 by 218 cm)
