Moonflower Cami
A smaller sister to the Moonflower Tee, this design was inspired by long summer days when we reach for easy-to-wear camisoles made with plant fibers.
The cami can be worn two ways - with a v-neck or with a round neck, depending on how you tie the straps. They can also be made shorter and seamed without a bow. Straight silhouette allows you to choose between adding some positive ease for a flowy fit or going with negative ease for a more fitted garment. The length is also easily adjustable.
Moonflower Cami is worked from the top down. First, four triangles are knit flat separately. They are then combined on the same needles and the body is worked in the round to the ribbed hem. The main stitch pattern features traveling stitches - a combination of increases and decreases - and is easy to memorize and entertaining to knit. Instructions are both charted and written.

Construction
-
The cami is knit from the top down.
-
The four triangles are started with the provisional cast on at their top tips, then knit flat separately in two sections. The first section (top tips) is worked the same way for all four triangles. The second section differs for right and left triangles, and each size has a specific set of instructions to follow. There are directions on which pages of the pattern to print for each size for knitter’s convenience.
-
The triangles are joined together once they reach the required width. From this point the top is worked in one piece in the round until the desired length, then finished off with 2x1 rib.
-
Stitches for the straps are picked up at the top of triangles and the straps are knit in 2x1 rib. The straps can be made long and then tied in a bow, or short and grafted to the tip of the opposite triangle.
