MOONLIGH - Beanie
Moonlight is a beanie born from connection, colour, and quiet support. It was inspired by Moonlight Fibre, whose yarn first caught my eye, and my heart, at Unravel Festival in September 2025, where we were lucky enough to be stall neighbours. In a time that was personally difficult for me, their kindness, encouragement, and those beautifully bright skeins became a small but powerful source of light.
The colourwork motif is based on the Moonlight Fibre logo and is used with the kind permission of the lovely Joanna. This pattern is my way of capturing that feeling: something comforting, joyful, and steady, with colourwork that glows a little like moonlight itself. Moonlight is a reminder that even in challenging moments, creativity and community can carry us through, one stitch at a time.

35 stitches and 37 rounds to 10cm / 4in over stranded colourwork in the round on gauge-size needle(s) Use 3mm needle(s) as a starting point for swatching.

SIZES
The pattern includes three sizes: one to fit teenager head with 48-53.5cm / 19-21in, a size to fit a small adult head with 51-56cm / 20-22in and a third size to fit an adult head with 56-61cm / 22-24in circumference.

PATTERN NOTES
This beanie is knitted from the bottom up. After the brim in corrugated rib, the body of the hat is worked in stranded colourwork, with an optional i-cord finish. All of three sizes can be made in two versions: a longer, slouchy beanie or a shorter, fitted beanie. On the longer beanie, the motif is worked twice along the length, with the second repeat offset by half a repeat.
