Moonlit Mirage
This is a luscious, dreamy shawl with deep lace, beaded for splendor, with the option of adding crystals. You have the option of not adding beads and/or crystals. Simply knit the stitch instead of adding the bead/crystal.
Begin with a textural, visually interesting picot edge. Then slip into the beautiful lacy edge. You have the option of 5 or 7 repeats of the lovely lace, and an additional option of eyelets and yet another repeat of the lace at the top. You also have the option of using one or two colors. So you choose, it’s ornate and feminine no matter which version you choose.
I admit I prefer the shawls made in Ancient Arts and also Miss Babs over the shawl made in the Crazy Zauberball. The quick color changes of the green colorway Crazy Zauberball obscure the lace a bit; whereas the lace shows exceptionally well in the light, striated colors of Ancient Arts 3-Ply Fingering/Sock in color Fog Warning and also in Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply in Provence color. I would choose a light colored smooth yarn to show the lace at its best.
Note: A friend just finished the shawl and just barely broke into a third skein of Ancient Arts 3-ply Fingering. Her lace was a little looser than mine on the lace portion. You may consider purchasing a third skein…just in case you stray from gauge.
