Moonlit Path
This eye-catching triangular shawl is worked in 3 colours with a mosaic body and a wide ribbed border.
Mosaic knitting is an easy colourwork technique that uses slipped stitches and only one colour at a time. Fun to knit with fascinating results.
Worked sideways from one tip to the opposite edge makes it fun to knit and easy to wear.
The sample was made using a fabulous heavy worsted weight yarn from Marigold Fibers and she has put together some wonderful kits in her etsy shop for you!
If you prefer, you could easily use a different yarn weight and/or yardage since the pattern is fully adjustable. It would also make a great stash buster for those single skeins in your stash.
This pattern creates a fun and easy knit with different sections and textures that keep your interest, resulting in a beautiful cosy item.
It includes fully written row-by-row as well as charted instructions so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!
SIZE OF SAMPLE
length along top edge: 190 cm / 74.75“
depth: 64 cm / 25.25“
easily adjustable to your liking or the yardage you have available
YARN
Designed for worsted weight yarn in three contrasting colours. Allow approx. 534 m / 585 yds total to get the size of the sample. Easily adjustable for other weights and/or yardages.
Yarn used for sample: Marigold Fibers Merino Worsted (worsted weight, 100g = 178 m / 195 yds), 1 skein each in colourways Admiral (A), Moonlit (B) and Mulberry (C)
GAUGE & NEEDLES
Not critical for this project but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.
Gauge on sample: 17 sts x 22 rows in border rib stitch, and 17 sts x 34 rows in mosaic stitch pattern = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ after light blocking.
Needles used for sample: 6 mm / US 10
This pattern has been professionally tech-edited and well testknitted. Thanks so much to my wonderful helpers!
