On my first visit to Mexico in the 1970s I visited the ancient city of Teotihuacan, north of Mexico City, The step Pyramid of the Moon is one of the site’s major features and was the inspiration for this design, as I envisioned the moon rising above the temple. Light, lofty, and luxurious Billow was the perfect yarn choice for this pattern, creating an ethereal feel with the mosaic stitch patterns I used to create the image.

I used one partial skein each of Dusk and Quicksilver for the cowl

Note that this pattern uses some of the mosaic patterns found in the Moonrise Mosaic Knit Wrap – and for anyone knitting that pattern, there will be sufficient yarn left over to knit this cowl. See the last photo for the two pieces photographed together.
