Socks that are just right for a walk in the woods.
Inspiration for these socks came while walking the South West Coast path. At Helston there is an option to wade through the river at low tide, as long as you are careful to avoid the creature that swims in these waters. It goes by the name of “Morgawr”. To me the lace panel looks like the ripple you see on the water as it swims past.

Construction is top down in the round on DPNs starting with a short section of 1x1 rib. The lace detail has garter rib on either side, and is identical on the front and back of the leg. The heel features a slip stitch heel flap, short row heel turn and gusset. The lace and garter rib pattern continues down the top of the foot. The toe has a wedge-shaped construction ending with 12 stitches, which are joined with Kitchener stitch.

Yarn: knitmesane 4ply sock yarn (425m/100g); 1 skein in colour way “Tropicana”

Gauge: 32 sts and 48 rounds measure 10cm / 4”.

Needles: 2.75mm (US2) DPNs or circular needle for magic loop.
