This pattern is one the three patterns available from The Cornish Gansey Company Ebook

The Morwenstow Slate Motif has been taken from the gansey worn by the iconic and eccentric Vicar of Morwenstow near Bude in North Cornwall. It was also the pattern sported by Ernest Shackleton the intrepid explorer.

The booklet is a photo guide with step by step instructions for those new to gansey knitting and takes you through every part of the project from the welt to the faux seam detail, gusset, shoulder straps and more. There are clear instructions about how to alter your sweater if you don’t fit the standard sizes too plus a guide to aftercare.

There are 27 different shades of Frangipani yarn to choose from so you don’t have to choose Dark Navy. Do hop over to my website for full details plus a shop full of needles, notions and other books and dvds for gansey lovers everywhere at www.thecornishganseycompany.co.uk
