These mitts feature a cross motif, limited to the wrists, adding interest to an otherwise minimal design. A strong colour contrast helps the slipped stitch pattern stand out. Whilst the main colour I’ve used is quite pale, it is still distinct alongside the much paler colour around the cross motif.

Quince & Co. Tern (75% wool, 25% silk), 202m/221yds per 50g skein, in the following shades:
Yarn A: Kelp; 1 skein
Yarn B: Oyster; 1 skein

Needles and Accessories
Set of five 2.75mm (US 2/UK 12) doublepointed needles (DPNS) or your preferred needles for working a small circumference in the round, or size needed to achieve correct tension

Scrap yarn – a length of yarn about 50cm/20in that is a similar thickness to the yarn being used. Slippery yarn in a contrasting colour works best so that the yarn is easy to find and remove
