Mosaic Shawl (Crochet)
Available exclusively with your passport at Knitkabob during the Slow Yarn Crawl from June 1-Aug 31, 2018.
Knitkabob, our yarn shop in northeastern Oregon, opened on March 14, 2013. This year, 2018, is our fifth anniversary. To celebrate and to show how much we love Tunisian crochet, we joined the Slow Yarn Crawl and designed this shawl. The shawl starts with 5 stitches and comes in 5 parts, involving 3 different Tunisian stitches.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Size: 27 inches long and 78 inches wide
Yarn: 200 grams fingering weight
(The sample uses Queensland Collection’s Uluru Rainbow, with 382 yards in 99 grams.
Hook: Size G (4.0 mm) Tunisian Hook with a 24 inch cable
Gauge: For the sample, blocked Tunisian simple stitch, there are 20 stitches and 19 rows in a 4 inch square. (Gauge is not critical. It’s the nature of Tunisian crochet that bits want to curl. Using a hook size larger than you’d usually use for the yarn and no nonsense blocking usually resolves any
curling issues.)
